Libby White (she/her) and Stephanie Konas (she/her) started Home Plate Farm in 2024. Our seedling operation is centered in Grafton, MA where we start our plants for one acre of permanent, no-till beds in Hopkinton, MA. Home Plate Farm is located on land that was once the beloved Amato Farm and Long Life Farm, and we are honored to continue the stewardship of this land.

Who are we? Where are we?

Our agriculture practices reflect our commitment to honoring this opportunity, as we employ methods that promote soil diversity and health. While we are not yet organic certified, we will be applying for organic certification in March of 2024. The National Organic Program (NOP) is a federally regulated program that develops and enforces consistent national standards which protects consumer confidence in the integrity of agricultural products. By following these standards, we ensure the integrity of our produce and provide that confidence for our consumers. These standards prohibit pesticides and require methods that go further to increase soil fertility. For example, to remain compliant we are dedicated to methods like crop rotation, solarization, companion planting, soil test analysis for remineralization, and integrated pest management.

What are our practices? Are we organic?

In our first season, we are offering memberships to our Community Supported Agriculture program. After a one-time payment, a member of our program will receive 18 weeks of vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers delivered directly to their door. From June 6th to October 4th, our members will enjoy the fruits of our labor. Each harvest is planned and planted according to the season and temperatures. By joining our program, our members are not only signing up for fresh and flavorful food but are supporting our commitment to invest in the future of our land and community.
